Senior PKR member suspended by PKR within 3 DAYS of show cause letter

By now we should all know how inefficient PKR is. However, when it comes to suspending its members, PKR can be surprisingly efficient. Within 3 days of sending a show-cause letter to long-time party member Dr. Joyce Lee, PKR had Dr. Joyce suspended.

Published below is Dr. Joyce's reply to the show cause letter dated 7 March 2011. Within 48 hours of receiving this letter, PKR decided to suspend Dr. Joyce's membership.

8 March 2011

Dear Disciplinary Committee Chairman Dato’ Dr. Tan Kee Kwong

RE: RESPONSE TO SHOW CAUSE LETTER
(Your Ref: SUA2011/SKR/JKD/0356)

Within 48 hours after this letter,
long-time PKR member and activist
Dr. Joyce Lee was suspended from the Party
In response to your show cause letter dated 7 March 2011 about the alleged statements I made on Facebook that hurt the image of Party, Ketua Umum, Deputy President and Central Leadership Council (MPP).

Facebook

First of all, Facebook is a social network site for friendship, common interest, beliefs, knowledge sharing, and Facebook friends are by invitation only. The conversations I had on my Facebook wall with families and friends are similar to the private conversations I had at my house. Is it logic for PKR to ask all its members to officially explain every private conversation they had at their houses eavesdropping by someone outside the window? In which eavesdropper seldom hear anything good of themselves.

Statements I made on Facebook:

“Azmin is anak angkat Mahatir, he has never stayed away from UMNO in terms of connections, so to enjoy “money” dropping from the sky…”

This is a fact that Azmin Ali is the adopted son of Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali (the wife of Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad), and there is closed tie between the family of Azmin’s father and the family of Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali. Can Azmin Ali explain his imported car business which is still in operation till now, in which APs are only given to the selected few in UMNO? Why there is no one (even UMNO) makes noise about Azmin to continue enjoying APs and to continue with his imported car business?

“90% of MPP are without credibility that won because of jumped on the dirty bandwagon of Azmin. Anwar could turn 2010 PKR election as a milestone in the Malaysian political history, but he choose to make it an universal laughing stock because of Azmin. Big price to pay!”

The fact that there is fraud renders the whole election process a sham. MPP Christina Liew mentioned the irregularities in the polls in several Sabah divisions (Malaysiakini dated 12 November 2010). Press conferences were hold and memorandums were submitted by Mustaffa Kamil Ayub, Chegubard (Badrul Hisham Shaharin) and Dato’ Zaid Ibrahim (Malaysiakini dated 12 November 2010), in which President Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah promised malpractices in the party elections conduct would be thoroughly probed (Malaysiakini dated 12 November 2010). Even Ketua Umum Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim admitted flaws in polls and vowed sweeping probe (Malaysiakini dated 28 November 2010). During the PKR congress in November 2010, Secretary-General Saifuddin Nasution said that the report on the investigations on the allegations would be made two weeks after the congress (The Sun Daily dated 27 December 2010), in which we’re still waiting for the report.

“Why should PKR members bother about their KPIs? Seeing the fact that PKR Deputy President “menang by tipu”, PKR Election Director, PKR Parliamentarian Whip, ADUN Bukit Antarabangsa, MP Gombak, Ketua Cabang Gombak cum PPN Selangor didn’t even pass his KPIs.”

How can someone like Azmin Ali who flunked his own KPIs, accused of being aloof and lacking the grassroots’ touch be effective in constituency service and grassroots rapport, as well as be leadership by example? (Free Malaysia Today dated 21 February 2011). PKR has a pool of qualified leaders. We need rational explanation from top leader why non-performing Azmin is appointed with so many important party posts? Also, please study the feedback of many blog news readers, PKR members and Azmin’s constituents about the bad public perception he has.

Deterioration of Party Image

I would like to stress that as a member of ADIL since its inception, what I said/say is purely due to the love for our Party and Country, as well as the passion to bring about real change for the betterment of Malaysian politics. I am not against the Party, but I indignantly denounce the selfish and wicked individuals/leaders that damaged the party’s image and wrecked the Hope of the People. Can MPP make impartial and appropriate group decision when it contains so many individuals who played tag together each other in obtaining the MPP posts by fraudulent means during the party election? Therefore, the quality and credibility of the existing MPP and the so-called collective party leadership are seriously in doubt. This will definitely have a detrimental effect on PKR/PR, because we can’t expect the majority one-sided MPP to field vetted and credible candidates for GE13, especially if there is no proper implementation of Candidates Selection Criteria and KPI ratings. We can’t see the leadership lineup formed after the notorious party election can help to clean our Party’s name in producing many frogs and non-performing YBs.

To say again, the Facebook comment is similar to private conversation with friends, and my opinion was not targeting the general public. It should not, therefore be considered an offence as it would be if I gave a press conference, appeared on TV or wrote to a mainstream newspaper. So, on what ground I am accused to deliberately damage the image of Party?

Culprits who actually damaged the Image of Party and the unity of Members:

1. Zuraida Kamaruddin

Talking about Facebook, what action has been taken on Women Chief Zuraida Kamaruddin so far (she used MCMC, an UMNO agency to oppress our own PKR member by curbing freedom of expression on Facebook)? Ketua Umum Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim in his email reply dated 3 December 2010 suggested Zuraida to be referred to Disciplinary Committee (please find the attached copy of the email communication).

Also, what is the disciplinary action taken on Zuraida for instructing her agents to unethically “misplace” many MATWC Meeting Minutes and MPWP 2010-2013 candidates’ nomination forms (please find the attached complaint letter of Wanita Cabang Batu Kawan to Central Elections Committee Head Dr. Molly Cheah, c.c. Secretary-General Saifuddin Nasution dated 14 October 2010)? Further to that, did Disciplinary Committee take action on Zuraida for openly sabotaging a free and fair party election and her blatant lies to the media that she won the Women Chief post without contest on 15 October 2010 (attached herewith copy of Nanyang Siang Pau) before the nomination dateline 16 October 2010? In actual fact there were four qualified Women Chief candidates and a 3-corner-fight for the top Women Wing post.

2. Azmin Ali

Azmin Ali has vowed to start his witch-hunt instead of calling all party members to close rank right after “winning” deputy presidency unofficially (Malaysiakini dated 22 November 2011). What is the disciplinary action taken on Azmin for going to the media to openly damage the image of Party, as well as to demoralize and disunite the party members?

3. Mansor Othman

Vice President Mansor Othman told the media that PKR has started its spring cleaning to clear all the dissenting voices before the forthcoming general election (Nanyang Siang Pau dated 25 January 2011). Even my name and photo was published in the January’s paper suggesting I would be one of them to receive show-cause letter, in which I actually received it now in March. Is this the pre-planned witch-hunt as Azmin and gang vowed to? Also, it is another blatant example of going to the media to divide party members and to injure party’s image. Any stern action is taken on Mansor Othman?

All in all, it is no exaggeration for Party members to call Azmin and gang hypocrites and arrogant asses, after all the damages they have done to our beloved Party. Don’t tell us no action taken on the evildoers associated with the party election frauds, witch-hunt and disintegration of party forces before GE13 is a “deal” and an overture to push PKR/PR to electoral doom? I hope party leadership can also explain the alleged “deal” between PKR top leader with Prime Minister Najib Rajak to stand acquitted on the charge which is widely spreading now.

PS: I believe Dato’ Tan can understand the contents of Nanyang Siang Pau and can help to translate to the Disciplinary Committee Members.

Thank you.

Yours truly,

DR. JOYCE LEE YUEH CHOO

Azmin, get a grip - Anthony Ibong

Azmin should be mindful that SNAP had been established in Sarawak far longer than PKR, and in fact longer than the Malaysian federation itself. SNAP provided the first chief minister of the state. He should give it the due respect that it deserves as the party that is the traditional Dayak-based political organisation of Sarawak.
by Anthony anak Ibong via e-mail

The PKR deputy president, Azmin Ali's remarks, reported on March 5th, directed to the Sarawak National Party (SNAP) are highly deplorable.

Who does Azmin think he is, to tell, to warn and to set conditions to SNAP? He appears to be intent on bullying SNAP.

On December 12 2010, he gave a fiery speech in Bintulu promising to give full autonomy to Sarawak were Pakatan Rakyat (PR) to gain power at the federal level. I am beginning to doubt if what he said that day Sarawak autonomy can be believed at all given his attitude to SNAP which is a pure Sarawakian party, unlike PKR.

With the unresolved issues arising from the PKR party elections and high number defections of its elected representatives, Azmin should bear in mind that he is from the party that is commonly agreed to be the weakest link in the PR coalition. He ought to be more humble and circumspect before deciding to get on the high horse and start dictating what other political parties should or should not be doing and trying to impose terms.

PKR and PR should be thankful that SNAP is willing to be an ally in the impending state elections. It will be unwise for Azmin or anyone else for that matter to treat SNAP as a junior partner in this alliance.

Even Umno has been sensitive to local Sarawak sentiments and refrained from setting itself up in the state. For PKR to come in and start ordering and bossing SNAP around, that is something which will not go down well with the Sarawak electorate and may adversely impact PR's performance in the state elections. That is why I found Azmin's remarks so short-sighted and deplorable.

Apart from power-abuse and high level breaches of public trust, the other major and apparently intractable issues in the state are Dayak-based, such as the question of native customary rights over land. Between PKR and SNAP, surely the latter as a Sarawak-based organisation, is better placed to represent the people of the state in any sincere effort to resolve those issues.

It is best that the PR parties bear in mind that SNAP contested no fewer than 28 seats in the last state elections. To offer it just 3 seats to contest this time around is nothing but an insult to the aspirations of the people of Sarawak. All things considered, there is no compelling reason why SNAP should tie its fortune to PR if the PKR does not budge in the seat-allocations discussions.

As for Azmin, if he was not being hypocritical in his talk about Sarawak autonomy, he should be more receptive to and accepting of SNAP's desire to contest in the number of seats it feels it deserved and stop trying to boss the Sarawak party around.

Under pressure to wrap up seat talks - Zefry Dahalan

Insiders say they don’t relish the thought of having Azmin negotiate for PKR if Anwar goes to jail.

Pakatan Rakyat insiders expect a lot of acrimony among the parties of the alliance in their negotiations for seats to contest in the coming general election unless the horse trading is settled before Anwar Ibrahim goes to jail.

They say Anwar is second to none when it comes to negotiating skills, but they fear that it is almost certain that he will be convicted for sodomy, given the Najib administration’s determination to put him out of action.

That means, according to the insiders, PKR deputy president Azmin Ali will take over as chief negotiator for his party, and they say Azmin does not command much respect from other Pakatan leaders.

Indeed, he has already angered some PAS leaders with a recent statement accusing the Islamic party of eyeing seats that PKR claims as its own.

PAS secretary-general Mustafa Ali, for instance, has effectively told him to shut up, according to the daily Sinar Harian.

Anwar, said a PAS source, must “sort out the seat allocation issues” before the end of his sodomy trial, which is expected to be wrapped up next month.

The sources also said the Pakatan leadership had divided the electoral seats into three categories.

Won seats are those that the opposition won in the 2008 election. The parties that won them will contest them again in the next election.

Popular seats are seats that the opposition lost in 2008, but where the candidates who stood there are popular and have increased their grassroots support since. It will be status quo for these seats as
well.

The rest are open seats. Here, at least two parties in Pakatan have equal chances and these are the seats that will come under intense negotiation.

It is not known how Pakatan will treat the seats currently occupied by defectors from PKR and DAP.

A senior PAS leader told FMT that he felt these seats should go to the parties that won them in 2008. “A party should not be penalised for the irresponsible behaviour of an individual,” he said.

Azmin, Jangan Biadap. - Wan Nasuha

Sekian. Wasallam.

PKR Failed “Direct” Elections - Dr. Joyce Lee

PKR “direct” elections which should be a milestone in Malaysian politics have turned out to be a fiasco with party members leaving the party, holding mass protest, vituperating each other and crucifying top leadership in the media, social networking, blogging and microblogging sites.

PKR “direct” elections which should be a milestone in Malaysian politics have turned out to be a fiasco with party members leaving the party, holding mass protest, vituperating each other and crucifying top leadership in the media, social networking, blogging and microblogging sites.

The imbroglio has started when Dato’ Zaid Ibrahim who joined PKR for less than a year declared his candidacy for deputy presidency. This triggered PKR de factor leader Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim to interfere in the election by making sure his “right hand man” Azmin Ali would win PKR deputy presidency at all costs. False allegations were carried out by many top leaders including Anwar himself against Zaid by labelling Zaid as “Trojan Horse”, denying him was ever the PR co-ordinator and many more. Also, telephone calls were made by Anwar to many division chiefs to tell them who to vote by promising “sweets” would be rewarded.

When party leaders and members saw how things were going, many jumped on the bandwagon. Further, Azmin, the incumbent PKR Women Chief Zuraida Kamarrudin and gang used every means in their positions, power and manipulated the party machinery to win.

Party leadership turned a blind eye to the allegations of electoral fraud, coercion, violence, malpractice and even vote-rigging during the polls process. This led to much frustration among party members who had hoped the party would set a benchmark in local politics. The furious and disappointed Zaid opted out of the race halfway and left PKR to set up a new party, KITA. Party members’ frustration finally reached its peak when the party election official results were announced and new central leadership are formed by ignoring the irregularities and without disclosing all the divisions’ polls results of the last two weeks.

To this point, not only no action has been taken by party leadership on the alleged malefactors. But the unscrupulous duo, Azmin and Zuraida have been crowned Deputy President and National Women Chief of PKR respectively. Worst still, the influential PKR Election Director post who will decide candidates for the coming general election was taken away from Fuziah Salleh who has more conscience comparatively and given to Azmin also. Meanwhile, Dr. Xavier Jayakumar who is aligned to Azmin but alleged using gangsterism in various divisions during the polls was given award on the stage during the recent PKR convention, as well as being appointed to the powerful central political bureau.

Many staunch supporters’ dreams have now been shattered and they no longer believe those lying and unethical PKR leaders will be able to lead Malaysia to a clearer and brighter tomorrow.

Gobalakrishnan leaves the poison behind - KTemoc

Gobala wasn’t the first to exit PKR with animosity; he won’t be the last. So, will you anwaristas again blame those who leave, or will you open your eyes wide and recognize the Anwar-Azmin poison? It's time PKR members wake up from their mesmerized hypnotized hallucinations, and stop imagining your icon and his blue-eye boy are infallible.
by KTemoc at KTemoc Konsiders

So the virtually impossible has happened - Gobalakrishnan, once PKR’s chief bodek-er of Anwar, has resigned from PKR in disgust. Who would have ever predicted this prior to the recent party polls - a poll which had led many party stalwarts as well as notable and neutral socio-political observers to question the integrity of its process.

Silence from the party leaders, or their caught-with-pants-down inability to reply the challenges by the complainants have invited the inevitable destructive implosion.

And instead of pressuring the party leaders to be fully accountable, predictably, the moronic PKR fanatics lambasted Gobala as a snake, frog, UMNO-MIC mole, running dog and with various animal appellations. Will they do likewise to other complainants like Chegubard, Jonson Chong, Mustaffa Kamil as they did to Zaid Ibrahim, Gobala, Nallakaruppan, etc?

As I mentioned in my previous post The Poison within PKR - Part III:

Gobala might have hailed from MIC, supposedly a stigma that anwaristas have been hurling at him since he spoke out against Anwar Ibrahim. That’s the infantile stupidity of anwaristas. They seem to have forgotten that their very own icon and his blue-eye boy hailed from UMNO, and as another example, Chua Jui Meng was from MCA, etc.

Dismissing Anwar’s critics by pointing to their original political affiliations (Gobala from MIC, Zaid Ibrahim from UMNO, etc) while ignoring those of Anwar and Azmin (and Chua JM) is childish, double-standard, not objective, self deceiving, and can even eventually lead/escalate to accusing-stereotyping people like Gobala of being a “typical Indian”. Bet you that label has already been voiced within some groups in PKR.

and also

And haven’t party seniority and living the party's ‘trials & tribulations’ been the Azmin Ali camp’s arguments on why Azmin was far more deserving than Zaid Ibrahim of the post of party deputy president?

The blind double-standard hypocrites they are, their argument of ‘no to parachutist’ in the Azmin versus Zaid Ibrahim election tussle obviously doesn’t apply to the Gobala vs Surendran case.

Such double standard hypocrisy and Machiavellian manipulation to marginalize those members posing a threat to Azmin Ali have been the deadly ingredients which brew the poison with PKR.

Just double-standard fanatics, blind to their own follies, without the ability to think independently.

I believe it has been Anwar’s blind devotion for and non-negotiable support of Azmin Ali that have fermented the poison within PKR which will eventually kill the party off like Roundup does for lallangs.

Yes, perhaps Gobala may not be an intellectual, as some snobs in PKR suggested and thus better out of the party, but how many intellectuals does PKR have? Is Azmin Ali an intellectual? wakakaka! In reality he is nothing more than a pretty boy, a relative lightweight in the intellect department. His only strength in PKR is that Anwar Ibrahim backs him up 101% - nothing else.

Gobala was a loyal PKR member and an erstwhile staunch supporter of Anwar Ibrahim. The reason for him leaving PKR with such anger is no different to that of Nallakaruppan, where Anwar and the party had done him grave injustices. For Gobala, they were a mix, namely, the questionable party polling process and the refusal or inability of the party leaders to answer the challenges of the complainants, the deliberate snubbing of him in favour of Surendran (showing PKR's double standard where Surendran is okay as a parachutist but not so for Zaid Ibrahim), the outrageous 45-page show-cause letter with a demand to respond within an unreasonable 7 days, etc. Any reasonable man would have been driven off by such rot.

Keyakinan PR ke Putrajaya: Realistik atau fantasi? - Nazli Ibrahim

Pengundi muda undi penentu

PR Pulau Pinang punyai kelebihan perolehi mandat semula

Kerajaan PR Selangor bermasalah pertahankan kerajaannya?

Who will lead Pakatan Rakyat? - Hussein Abdul Hamid

All of us want to lead!!!
Lady Macbeth:
Out, damn'd spot! out, I say!—One; two: why, then
'tis time to do't.—Hell is murky.—Fie, my lord, fie, a soldier, and
afeard? What need we fear who knows it, when none can call our
pow'r to accompt?—Yet who would have thought the old man to
have had so much blood in him?
Macbeth Act 5, scene 1, 26–40

Has there has ever been any doubt that DSAI will lead PR into battle with BN? And if PR wins would it not be DSAI who will be Prime Minister? Any doubt in whose mind?

For me DSAI is where he is now by default. There is no one else. Let me rephrase that. There is no other Malay within PR that could seriously give DSAI a run for his money. Malaysia being what it is, it is politically incorrect not to have a Malay as Prime Minister! Sickening but true! Zaid had delusions of grandeur but his approach was flawed from day one. He simply could not play politics at street level. Azmin saw him as a threat and went about the business of neutralizing him with the practised ease of season politicians. Much like what Mahathir did to DSAI a while back.

Is DSAI the Leader PR must have? We now know that PKR is not the alternative to UMNO. What happened in PKR recent party elections is also what happens in UMNO elections but without its refinements and with some parts borrowed from MIC –overt intimidation and harassment of candidates and their supporters. One member one vote is a no brainer when only a very small number of members turn up to cast their votes – a damming indictment of what the members thought of their party elections. Semua telah di atur! Imagine this being allowed to happen on a national scale!

What about PKR in Selangor? Even with Khalid (a man scrupulously honest) Selangor has been beset with in-fighting from within PKR and attacks from UMNO and civil servants within the State government machinery that have managed to stifle many of Khalid’s initiatives to effect change in the state. Here my emphasis is more on UMNO being successful then on Khalid being able to counter these sabotage attempts.

It is PKR that must take responsibility for helping UMNO do their dirty work by not supporting Khalid endeavours to bring good governance to Selangor. Instead the party faithfuls are clamouring for Khalid’s removal from office because he refused to pander to their demands for contracts and business opportunity from the state government.

What we want to see from DSAI are solutions. Appointing Azmin head of Selangor PKR is not a solution to Khalids problem–it is another problem created! Having DSAI as Selangor’s Economic Advisor makes things more difficult for Khalid. Both these appointments weakens Khalid politically. DSAI as PKR defacto leader is failing Khalid. We are privy to all this shennagins. What do you think we make of it all? What will happen if DSAI is Prime Minister? If a Ketua Bahagian is at loggerheads with his MB, are they to go to DSAI over the head of the MB for sympathy and support? Imagine the chaos this will cause. You will be so busy sweating the small stuff that you will not have time to attend to national issue.

One reason why the Malays are unable to compete on a level playing field with others in higher education is because they are not proficient in English. As Minister of Education DSAI introduced Bahasa Melayu as the lingua franca. He did so for political reasons - to play to the gallery of those Penjuang Bahasa Melayu. We can now see what havoc it has wreck upon the ability of the Malays to cope when they go overseas to further their education.

Khalid is going ahead with the proposed constitutional amendment in Selangor because he said that UMNO committed treason in 1993 when they took away the Sultan powers on a number of matter – including the appointment of the SS. I suggest Khalid revisits 1993 and find out whom Mahathir sent to fight his battle with the Sultans for him – it was DSAI. And DSAI did the work of making the Sultan understand that UMNO will do what they want. DSAI then is guilty of treason. And who wants to give these Sultan back anything?

And now the elephant in the room that PR ignores. Sodomy allegations against DSAI. It is inconceivable to many of us that DSAI had committed sodomy–not when he has been through hell with Sodomy One. But what if he himself does not understand or know what he does? There have been too many smoking guns – Saiful and others included – to ignore this aspect of DSAI. I think it bears further investigations. There might be a medical explanation of this – a split personality syndrome perhaps – that there is a dark side of DSAI that even he himself does not know of – what else us!

I am speaking of these issues now because these are matters that must be spoken and discussed by all good men who have the interest of our country at heart. It is enough that we now have a Prime Minister who many of us feel is involved in the murder of Altantuya. We have an Ambassador in Washington that has questionable morality issue. And now a Minister in cabinet who has yet to clear himself satisfactorily of rape allegations. They all need to understand that these allegations will not go away without due legal process to clear themselves – the people demand this and it is the right thing to do.

So in as far as DSAI is concern we need to have answers before it goes any further or else we will have another Najib or JJ entrenched in high public office without the people having recourse to know if they are guilty or innocence – because their high office shields them from any judicial inquiry. We do not want that with Najib – nor do we want it with DSAI.

But what PR needs to understand is this. You can only win the 13th general election if you have the support of the people. In simple terms let me tell you this – you do not have it now in the numbers that you need to win!

Everyday BN is gaining ground. Everyday PR shoots itself in the foot with blunders and self inflicted rhetoric that reinforced the people’s conviction that politicians are too full of themselves to be able to look at the bigger picture of the people’s and national interest. They cannot see the forest for the trees.

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results. So please some wisdom and clarity of purpose from the leaders of PR that will tell us that you will put into a place in our country a transparent and genuine democracy with social justice and human development for all.

The Section 52, Petaling Jaya PKNS Land: The Real Story - Miskam Hj. Suparman

Since the news broke in the internet about alleged power abuse concerning the PKNS land at Section 52, Petaling Jaya (read this, this, this and this), none of the parties implicated has come forward to clarify matters. It’s as if there are skeletons in the closet which ought to be kept under locked. Because they have all chosen to remain silent, I, as an ‘insider’ familiar with the way things are done in PKR, feel obligated to reveal the truth to the public.

The land in question is Lot 12, Petaling Jaya, where the PKNS head office is located and its size is 9.85 acres. In 2005, the Selangor state government under Khir Toyo gave 8 acres of Lot 12 to Puncak Wangi Sdn Bhd (an Umno-linked company?). The remaining 1.85 acres was retained (perhaps to be bequeathed to Khir Toyo?).

The matter of converting the land use condition to that of ‘development’, however, was left outstanding.

In March 2008, the BN state government was replaced by the PR one led by Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim. Thus, any kind of “business deal” arranged by Puncak Wangi with all those individuals and bodies responsible for land development matters in Selangor before the PR takeover was left “hanging in the air”.

In view of the millions already spent by Puncak Wangi for it to be the favoured party of PKNS to the extent of being appointed the ‘taukeh’ for the PKNS-owned Lot 12 land, the company needed to develop the land immediately in order to recover its initial outlays.

The new Menteri Besar, Khalid Ibrahim, deliberately kept mum over applications for land use over the said land as in his opinion there was still scope for the people of Selangor to benefit and their interests protected over the land deal with Puncak Wangi.

Recognising the impasse with Khalid, the company realised that any further effort to solve the problem requires making whatever offers necessary to Khalid’s bosses to get them to instruct Khalid to favour Puncak Wangi. That was something Khalid refused to do as he knew the DAP excos were fully aware of the situation. Thus the Selangor state leadership crisis erupted, with Azmin Ali resigning in protest from the PKNS board of directors and by implication threatening Khalid’s position as the person favoured by PKR to carry on as the MB of Selangor.

Through an edict issued by the party’s God-given leader, it was made clear that an immediate solution must be found, even if it appears that PKR has made deals which it should not with ‘pirates’. Unless, of course, there are ulterior motives. A new agenda, perhaps?

The upshot was that Azmin Ali was appointed the Selangor PKR chief replacing Khalid, thus making Azmin the boss to Khalid within PKR. Khalid was allowed to continue as MB and he pursued efforts to include and protect the interests of the people of Selangor in the Lot 12 project and to uphold PKR’s honour and dignity by not being perceived to be giving in or selling out to pirates. Praise be to God that there is still such an individual who is conscious of his roots and religion.

Khalid’s latest offer was for PKNS to give the remaining 1.85 acres to Puncak Wangi to be developed and in return the company will grant a 30% share of the whole project (now enlarged to 9.85 acres) to PKNS. Whether this compromise will bring the desired economic and commercial benefits to the Selangor people, that’s for the analysts to study and decide.

What is clear and needs to be questioned is the appropriateness and wisdom of PKR in being the new buddy of Puncak Wangi, one of those companies which mushroomed during the Mahathir era and participated in the economic cronyism which caused the economic re-structuring, so desired by the rakyat under the NEP, to fail. In fact, eradicating the existence of crony companies such as Puncak Wangi and the conditions that caused them to exist was one of the campaign vows of PKR during the 12th general elections, a vow that was well received and taken to heart by the rakyat.

As a “reformasi party”, PKR promised to the people that PKR will not continue with the way BN has administered the country. “We don’t promise you to just do things better, we promise to do things different altogether”, thus declared the party’s God-given leader to the thunderous applause of the rakyat. So, what has happened?

Word has been going around that relating to the above deal, RM10 million was promised and of that, RM3 million has already been paid. To whom? PKR itself appears to be with no funds. So only God knows. And, of course, the person who gave and the one who received. Will DAP be keeping silent or has its silence been bought in the same manner? It’s the rakyat who as always are the victims. The greedy ‘crocodiles’ and unscrupulous ‘snakes’ of this country will continue to thrive as long as its Malay leadership will not walk its talk and ignores the rakyat’s trust.

Do not compare PKR with UMNO and say it is “the lesser of the two evils”. That was not the reformasi deal. The rakyat demand that promises are honoured by their leaders even one who is supposedly God’s gift to them.

Be wary of the prayers of those who have been victimised.

Cerita sebenar tanah PKNS, Seksyen 52, Petaling Jaya - Miskam Hj. Suparman

“We don’t promise you to just do things better, we promise to do things different altogether” jerit pemimpin anugerah Tuhan dan disambut oleh tempikan sokongan rakyat.

Jangan bandingkan PKR dengan UMNO sebagai “lesser of the two evils”. That was not the reformasi deal.

Disneyland vs PKNS land - Pieter D'Cruz

It has been two days since the exposé of the shady dealings between Khalid Ibrahim, the Selangor Menteri Besar and Azmin Ali, the Deputy President of PKR over a piece of PKNS land in Section 52, Petaling Jaya. Two days and not a single word from either of them. The silence is deafening.

When Khir Toyo, the previous Menteri Besar, was alleged to use state funds to pay for a trip to Disneyland, PKR leaders went to town crying thief. Yet when the present Menteri Besar gave away PKNS land to a crony, the PKR leadership chooses to be quieter than a church mouse.

If the trip to Disneyland was brought to SELCAT, then shouldn’t the giving away of PKNS land merit the same treatment? What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. Unless, of course, one believes that corruption is kosher once blessed by a leader sent by God.

And they have the audacity to promise 10 reforms within 100 days if given the powers to govern the country. The only change to Selangor, a state that they have ruled for more than 1000 days, is a new line-up of cronies.

Yes, it’s the season for giving and forgiving but, no, giving away a piece of land owned by the rakyat is not on my gift list and hypocrites are not on my list of people to be forgiven.

Wishing Malaysians of the Christian faith, A Merry Xmas and all Malaysians, A Happy New Year. May the Good Lord bless and protect our beloved country.

Khalid & Azmin, minta jawab segera - Jaspal Singh Gill

Khalid & Azmin, please respond immediately - Jaspal Singh Gill

Only two days ago I had written about the dilemma that I have as an ordinary voter in deciding between BN or PR in the next general elections.

Today, it has been alleged through a local internet news portal that, first, the PR state government of Selangor has awarded without open tender a multi-million ringgit contract to develop a piece of Petaling Jaya land to a company with no known track record of property development and, second, the company is associated with the state assemblyman for Hulu Kelang, YB Azmin Ali who is also the deputy president of PKR and, third, YB Azmin had pressured the Selangor menteri besar, YAB Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, to award the contract to the said company.

These are very serious allegations. YAB Khalid and YB Azmin have an obligation to respond to them without delay. Their sincerity about upholding the integrity, accountability and transparency of the state government, PKR and PR are at stake here.

I hope neither one would stonewall these allegations the way their party did to accusations by party members of irregularities in their recent internal elections. Such reticence would only cause more disenchantment with PKR.

I also hope its coalition partners, PAS and DAP, would prod the state government to reply to the allegations. Such prodding is the right thing to do if PR is truly a coalition of equals.

There is no point in promising to do this or that reform within 100 days of being elected the federal government if PR drags its feet over a matter, such as this, which is fully under the responsibility of a PR state government.

I hope the state government or YAB Khalid or YB Azmin will give an explanation before Christmas. Otherwise, I together with my family and friends will decide not to give our votes to PR in the next general elections.

The voters are watching.

Tell the Truth Even if it Hurts - Do Not Become Cowards By Condoning Injustice - S. Kottapan

To All PKR Leaders and Party Comrades,

We the ordinary members of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) are assembled here today to express our sadness and disappointment towards PKR’s leadership that have continuously defended misconducts by the Central Elections Committee (CEC) and the Party Secretariat in handling the recently concluded PKR elections. Complaints and reports that have been made by party members were entirely ignored by the leadership, thus exposing the real attitude of these leaders; the feelings of ordinary members do not have to be cared or repected, that every member has the ability to think rationally and determine for themselves what is right, and what is wrong.

Our sadness and disappointment are compounded when members criticised, complained and expressed dissatisfaction over the party elections which have failed to be conducted in a fair and clean manner, and yet this discontent was brushed aside by the party as something of a nuisance to Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and YB Azmin Ali. To seek justice, fight for the truth, oppose abuses and propose improvements are considered acts of disloyalty and treachery. All members are expected to display undivided loyalty towards the beloved Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and YB Azmin Ali come what may, and not be a bother to Anwar Ibrahim and Azmin Ali.

Is it because we are just ordinary members that we do not deserve to be treated well by leaders who now have positions, wealth and power? Our advice to PKR leaders: respect our dignity as members. Without support from us ordinary members, you would be a nobody in PKR.

By acknowledging the legitimacy of the recent elections and protecting the cases of misconduct that have occured, the PKR leadership have succeeded in proving their cowardice and hypocrisy in striving for truth and justice as they have so often chanted. We would like to ask our PKR leaders: if you are unable to provide justice to your own members, would you be able to provide justice for all Malaysians?

REFORMASI! REFORMASI! REFORMASI!

Berkata Benar Biarpun Pahit - Jangan Jadi Dayus Melindungi Ketidakadilan - S. Kottapan

Asas kepada undang-undang adalah keadilan dan keadilan mesti dilihat pelaksanaannya - Justice must be seen to have been done.

Kita marah sebab UMNO/BN sedang membonsaikan pemikiran rakyat.

PKR, stop taking Indians for granted - Govan Naliah

As a member of PKR, I have to express my bitter disappointment with the way the party leadership has marginalised issues to do with the Indian poor and underclass of this beloved country.

So easily have the party’s top leaders forgotten that about one out four PKR members is an ethnic Indian.

So easily have they forgotten that without Hindraf, there would have been no tsunami of March 2008 which carried many PKR candidates to victory in many parliamentary and state assembly seats.

So easily have they forgotten that in the two and a half years since that electoral tsunami, the party they are leading have done practically nothing to address the plight of the Indian poor in the states that the party and its allies govern.

So easily have they forgotten that Indian poor look at PKR as the best, if not only, alternative to the other existing parties through which real political will can be found for meaningful action to uplift the socio-economic status of the disadvantaged Indian masses.

Alas, that hope has turned into disappointment. PKR is proving itself to be no different from MIC, PPP, IPF and the like. To all of them, the Indians are nothing more than a vote bank. Pursue them for their votes with all sorts of promises but forget about them once the elections are over or worse, treat them and their demands for rights and social justice as nothing more than a nuisance.

Witness yesterday’s demonstration against the party leadership at the PKR headquarters in Petaling Jaya. Yes, it was prompted by anger over the disgraceful way the supposedly democratic party elections were conducted. But look at who formed the overwhelming majority of the protesters. Yes, ethnic Indians! There is a groundswell of dissatisfaction and frustration within the Indian community about the way PKR has been treating the Indians.

Listen to what one Indian protester said about the Indians at the top level of PKR’s leadership: they are not really Indians - convey Indian-related grouses to them and they could not be bothered. Listen to what those protesters said about the party’s electoral fortune: without Hindraf, there would have been no 2008 tsunami.

To Anwar Ibrahim, Azmin Ali, Wan Azizah and the rest of the party leadership – ignore the signs at the party’s peril. The recent party elections have shown PKR to be just another of version of Umno which means Indians will continue to be shunted aside and marginalised. Don’t take Indian voters for granted! MIC without Samy Vellu may just look attractive again. What happened in March 2008 may not come your way again.

Manipulasi undi di Libaran & Sandakan; Sdr. Mustaffa Kamil digesa tarik diri - Abdul Aziz Anon
